As a newly minted college graduate, I jumped straight into agency work as a PR and advertising pitch pup, tackling a wide range of corporate accounts. Over the years, my focus shifted toward crisis and issues management, a more strategic and problem-solving side of PR. Then my own crisis hit, and I had no plan.
A wrecking ball called Profound Autism robbed my firstborn child of speech, development, and a normal life. Overnight, my focus shifted again, when my agency CEO presented a choice and said simply,
“You can’t do both.”
I ran straight into an autism street fight, leaving my career behind. Business trips became cross-country research pursuits. Medical releases replaced press releases. Full-time work became a full-time commitment to therapies, specialists, and biomedical interventions. But something unexpected followed—the work. Former clients and colleagues called. Projects and writing offers rolled in, until I cleared off my desk and took all the work I could handle, while I fought for my son.
That chapter planted the seed that grew into a successful consulting business…and now, The Blue Wing Agency. Several years back, I walked past that same agency CEO as I accepted a Best In Show PR industry award. Smiling, I bent toward him as I passed and said simply,
“I CAN do both.”
I founded The Blue Wing Agency, LLC with one purpose: To Help Good Stories Rise. Whether you’re launching something new, reimagining what’s next, or stepping into the spotlight for the first time, YOUR story deserves to be seen, heard, and remembered. My job is to make sure the right people hear it, and to make it land with meaning.
